Somali Legends Charity is a 501 (c)(3) organization, registered in the State of Washington and Minnesota founded by a group of former Somali footballers, basketballers, and athletes. 

The idea was to bring former Somali sports legends together and find ways to assist our fellow former sports legends in Somalia who have experienced economic and health challenges due to a lack of economic opportunities and not having relatives abroad to support them. 

It is a fact that the "haves" in Somalia are those who have thriving businesses, with jobs in both the private and government sector and those who have supporting relatives abroad. Unfortunately, the "have nots" neither have access to decent jobs, or supporting relatives abroad. 

It was clear to us that some of our former sports legends in Somalia, who are truly our brothers and sisters, are going through difficult times and are in need of our assistance. At first, support was getting to them sporadically by individuals and different groups in different parts of the globe. Finally,  some of these groups joined forces to unite for one purpose- to have a platform to celebrate Somali Legends and help our brothers and sisters back home under the umbrella of one organization.

Somali Legends Charity was born, and the organization quickly went to work to make a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in need.
